Junior Team & Junior Learn to Row

Thank you for your interest in the MRC Junior Team! Check out the Juniors Flyer

We welcome high school students from around the Twin Cities metro entering their 9th grade year through those who have just completed their senior year. Our team is open to all, from new rowers to experienced rowers. We also offer learn to row camps for all ages and recreational focused programming for middle school students. All programming is under the oversight of the Juniors Head Coach, Vicki Larson, and Juniors Coordinator, Jill Cooper.

As part of the Minneapolis Rowing Club's commitment to the safe and healthy development of youth rowers, our coaches, board members, staff and designated volunteers complete SafeSport training annually in accordance with
the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code of the U.S. and Paralympic Movement. For more information, please refer to the USRowing SafeSport Manual.

We seek to to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants. MRC maintains a broad definition of gender that spans the spectrum of identities, including cis-gender, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. At regattas, youth rowers participate in the gender category that aligns with their identity. For more information, please see the USRowing Gender Identity Policy.

Schedule & Team Fees

In order to row with the MRC Junior Team, there are two separate fees. Club membership dues are paid annually. In addition to membership, there is a seasonal program fee due for each season a rower participates. The Junior Team has three rowing seasons, spring, summer, and fall. Program fees do not automatically renew as there is no obligation for continued participation.

Season program fees may either be paid in full or upon request, an installment plan option to pay over time may be established.

The 2024 program fee for all Junior rowers was $475 per season with a sliding scale available. Junior rowers new to the program will also be assessed a one time uniform fee of $40. This ensures all team members have an official MRC racing tank. Additional optional MRC gear may be available for purchase as well.
  • MRC Juniors 2024 annual membership dues are $250
  • Juniors Novice (first year, no prior rowing experience) 2024 membership dues are $195
